What The Heck Is Meta Verified?!

Meta Verified is supposed to help creators "establish and grow their presence on Facebook (Meta) and Instagram."

There are perks like:

  1. Verification Badge (Authenticated Blue Check): Account authentication with a government ID upon subscribing.

  2. Live Chat Customer Support: Access to real-time customer/ creator support.

  3. Impersonation Monitoring: Account monitoring to target impersonators.

  4. Exclusive Features: Stickers on Facebook and Instagram Stories and Facebook Reels as well.

  5. Reach & Visibility: Increased exposure in search, comments, and recommendations.

This feature has started a very interesting dialect — while some are open to more safeguards and access to support, people like myself are questioning the reasoning behind it.

Before I start I want to preface that I have bought one for my personal page and I am personally going to study the benefits of it.

Meta Verified: Here is the Steeze you need to know.

What The Heck is Meta Verified?

Meta Verified is a paid subscription bundle that will include access to features like live chat support and of course the “almighty” blue check.

Who Has Access to Meta Verified?

Meta Verified is currently only being tested in The United States, New Zealand, and Australia.

Here are the requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.

  • Have a profile associated with your full name and a profile picture that includes your face. You need to be facing forward in this picture.

  • Have a government-issued ID that matches your name and picture.

  • Have two-factor authentication set up.

  • Meet minimum activity requirements, such as consistent posting history.

*Business and Non- Profit pages do noy have access yet!*

What’s The Ticket for Meta Verified?

Meta Verified costs $11.99 a month on the web (Safari, Chrome, Etc), and $14.99 a month on the phone apps..

How Does the Government ID Authentication Work?

Creators must authenticate their account with a government ID to verify that their picture and name match their Meta profile.

Now here is what sucks!

Meta Said: "At this time, Meta Verified will only support your real name on your profile. Once your profile is verified, you can’t change the profile name, username, date of birth, or photo on your profile without going through the Meta Verified subscription and verifications application process again."

So that is a huge L for brands who go by alias but if you are looking to rebrand your socials this would be a great opportunity to do that! Meta also says there will be no changes made to accounts who already had the blue check but there will definitely be a way to differentiate them from the META VERIFIED crowd.

Why Is This Being Tested?

It is very simple according to Instagram. The two comments they see the most are:

  1. How can we get more customer support?

  2. When will my Verification request go through?

So, basically they found their biggest gaps and found a way to monetize them.

So, I will be real….. I am only 75% sold on this. I understand that there are a crazy amount of bots and fraudulent accounts on social media so that is a great selling point but when it comes to customer service META is very good at connecting with consistent creators.

Keep in mind Meta Verified is currently just a test for now. The company is just testing the waters.

So there you have it, Meta Verified in a nutshell. We'll keep you posted on updates when we have them.
